Nearly 2 dozen rescued dogs find forever homes

The Rescue Effort

The rescue effort was initiated by a local animal welfare organization, which received a call from an overwhelmed owner who was unable to care for their dogs. The organization quickly sprang into action, mobilizing a team of volunteers and resources to rescue the dogs. The rescue team worked tirelessly to ensure the dogs’ safety and well-being, providing them with food, water, and medical care. The dogs were transported to a temporary shelter where they received further care and attention. The organization also worked with local veterinarians to provide the dogs with necessary medical attention.

The Forever Homes

Twenty-six dogs were rescued in total, but seven of them are currently in foster-to-adopt arrangements. These dogs are still receiving ongoing veterinary care and are being prepared for their forever homes. The foster-to-adopt arrangements are designed to provide the dogs with a temporary home while they complete their veterinary care. The arrangements allow the dogs to receive the necessary care and attention while also giving their new owners a chance to get to know them.

Pre-Surgical Care

Pre-Surgical Bloodwork

Esmeralda’s pre-surgical bloodwork revealed that she is heartworm positive. This is a common issue in many dogs, especially those that are not spayed or neutered until later in life. Heartworms are a serious health issue that can lead to heart failure and even death if left untreated. The good news is that heartworms can be treated with medication, and preventative measures can be taken to prevent further infections.

The Community Comes Together to Help the Dogs

The local animal shelter has been overwhelmed with the number of dogs in need of care and attention. With the help of the community, the shelter has been able to provide medical treatment and care for the dogs. The shelter has received donations of food, toys, and other essential items. Donations have been pouring in from local businesses and individuals, providing the shelter with the necessary resources to care for the dogs.

The community has been a vital source of funding for Doray’s research and has provided invaluable feedback and support throughout the project’s development.
